So, um, yeah. Hi.
It’s been a while. The monsters have been tapping their claws annoyed-like and impatient (and largely ignored) while the Artist has been running around playing with dirt. (Yes, dirt. Long story.) Blogging hasn’t been happening, and much like anything you totally ignore for a while, the longer you go without it, the less you think about it, until one day, you’re sitting at the computer and a monster bites your toes.
Hard, even.
(Or at least, that’s what happened here in the cottage on the prairie.)
The Artist extends her apologies, and would like you to know:
Just because she’s been a giant blog slacker, she’s been making things like a crazylady.
(One could argue that she does everything like a crazylady, since she kind of is a crazylady, but the monsters don’t wish to be locked in a closet for saying so.)
No, really. Look:
Or here:
Or even here:
In addition, there have been a hundred faces, a fully completed art journal start-to-finish, a new love of the formerly-sneered-at Smashbooks, another nearly-complete art journal, a whole mess o’ carved stamps, another whole mess o’ ATCs, a whole stack of handbound books, a couple of classes being hammered together and arted up, and small bits of garden art.
It’s the only reason the monsters haven’t yet revolted and moved in with someone less avoidant.
It’s almost June now, though, and the Artist is crawling out from under a pile of dusty broken keyboards with the intention of sitting down more often to share.
(Or to keep the monsters from biting off her toes. One of the two.)
So tell us — what have YOU been working on? (With or without imaginary monsters biting your digits.)
